With the November 5 general election just weeks away, news organizations in both Vermont and New Hampshire have been busy doing interviews, hosting debates, sending out questionnaires, and in other ways doing their best to give voters a sense of statewide and legislative candidates and their positions. Below are links to their work. I’ll update this page as new links become available.

Upper Valley

Here are brief Valley News profiles of legislative candidates in Upper Valley districts in Vermont: for state Senate in Orange and Windsor counties, and for House in Orange 1, Orange 2, Orange 3, Orange-Caledonia, Orange-Washingon-Addison, Windsor 1, Windsor 4, Windsor 5, Windsor 6, Windsor-Addison, Windsor-Orange 1, and Windsor-Orange 2.

— Wondering just what the heck all those district names actually mean? Here’s a town-by-town guide and set of maps.

— For House and Senate districts that include towns in the White River Valley, here’s the Herald’s page of articles, with no paywall, featuring coverage of debates and races in House and Senate districts in Orange County and the Randolph/Brookfield/Braintree area; uncontested seats in that region; and a September Windsor County debate.

— And the VN’s snippets on candidates in legislative contests for the NH House and Senate: Here are Grafton County candidates’ responses to a question about their top priorities, and another article for candidates in Sullivan County.

And ditto about candidates for county office—sheriff, county commissioners, etc.—in Grafton and Sullivan.

And here’s the VN’s general election page, with other articles the paper’s run. Including Emma Roth-Wells’ recent piece on how various legislative candidates would tackle the state’s housing crisis.

Here’s a Concord Monitor story (possible paywall) on the race for Executive Council District 2, which runs from Concord over to the NH towns along the river, and features Democratic Lebanon City Council member Karen Liot Hill, and Republican Kim Strathdee.

New Hampshire

— First off, here’s where you go to make sure your registration is up to date.

And voting FAQs from NHPR, like where to find your polling place and what it takes to vote absentee (which you should do right away if you’re planning to mail your ballot in).

NHPR’s run a set of candidate forums, with gubernatorial candidates Kelly Ayotte and Joyce Craig; the candidates in the First Congressional District; and Maggie Goodlander and and Lily Tang Williams in the Second Congressional District (that’s us) on 10/28.

NHPR’s also got a guide (mostly via links) to which offices are on state and county ballots this year (like, ever wonder what a register of probate is?) and to the lone state constitutional amendment on this year’s ballot (should the mandatory retirement age for judges be raised from 70 to 75?)

And here’s NHPR’s elections page, with voting information, conversations with individual statewide candidates, and NHPR coverage of candidates’ stances on issues like abortion, child care, issues facing the Mt. Washington Valley, and more.

Here’s New Hampshire Bulletin’s general election page, which mixes national articles from States Newsroom with congressional and gubernatorial coverage.

The Granite State News Collaborative has put together a set of issue briefs on where things stand both legislatively and politically in NH with such contentious matters as retail cannabis, transgender rights, climate change, and affordable housing.

— There’s also been coverage in (you may encounter paywalls):
