On March 21st at approximately 5:45pm, one of our DHART helicopters was dispatched from our hangar in Lebanon, NH to a scene call in Bradford, Vermont. Upon arriving at the landing zone the pilot encountered muddy ground, which the pilot felt unsuitable to land on. While repositioning the helicopter to firmer ground the aircraft experienced a mechanical issue requiring it to be taken out of service. The aircraft landed safely under full control and power. The medical crew then transitioned to caring for the patient with the assistance of local EMS providers and transported the patient via ground ambulance to DHMC. The aircraft was evaluated by the maintenance staff provided by Metro Aviation, Inc., from which DHART contracts with. The aircraft has been transported back to Lebanon.
