WHAT: Closure of I-91 SB
Beginning the morning of Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Interstate 91 South will be closed to all traffic from Exit 16 (Bradford) to Exit 15 (Fairlee). This closure is expected for an extended period and a reopening date is not yet known.
The purpose of this full closure is for the on-going ledge stabilization project between mile markers 92.7 and 92.5. The closure is for the safety of the motoring public as well as the installation of safety measures along and in the roadway.
A detour will be in place. I-91 southbound travel will exit the interstate at Exit 16, proceeding to VT-25, to US-5 South, to Lake Morey Road, then to I-91 South at Exit 15. A temporary signal has been installed at the intersection of US-5 and VT-25A in Fairlee and will be activated Tuesday, April 23 at 9:00 AM.
Interstate 91 northbound travel will remain open to all traffic. Notice will be issued upon the reopening of I-91 South.
