Desperate to find a story for her podcasting class, Breanna Glover one day screwed up her courage—”Mostly, I’m just terrified of tattoo parlors,” she confesses—and walked into WRJ’s Standard Company Tattoo to ask about getting a tattoo. She walked out with two of them—and an interview with owner Brian Barthelmes, the 6’7” former offensive lineman for the Patriots, lead singer in the band Tallahassee, and decidedly big presence in WRJ’s creative scene. They talk about art, the band, the relationship between the tattooer and the tattooee… and the time he tattooed his own leg with designs by his three-year-old twins.
